The story behind the poem...

"I wrote this poem on my first Monday morning after leaving a 21-career with IBM. It was a tracing of how 'dreams had come true for me' during my rewarding years of leadership there. I remain most grateful for the journey. However, on that first morning on my own, the real breakthrough for me was recognizing that I had something significant left to contribute to the world. It came to me as a strong message and confirmation as I wrote the reflective words. That was 15 rewarding years ago. The formula I wrote about in 'Our Dreams in Action' continues to work to for me to fulfill the promise of making a difference."
